In addition to setting SSID and wireless security, the Wireless Settings page allows you to:

    • Enable or disable wireless network.
    • Change the wifi channel.
    • Change wifi transmission power.
    • Set up MAC address filtering.

Don’t use an apostrophe in a the WiFi key! I found out the hard way.

@ccsmith Thanks for reporting this! This is a bug for the CF-WR619AC model. We’ll fix it in the next update.

if using a Mesh Router setup (2 AX1800s), does the “Satellite” unit mirror the Channel assignments, Channel size, and Power output levels of the main unit or should it be setup separately by the User?

Also, for best results, what is more important to balance coverage and speed – i.e. Channel size more important than power or vice-versa?

One more question – should VLAN’s be on their own channel or share the same channel as the primary network?

    Additional questions –

With a Mesh router, Netspot (wi-fi tester) is showing two of each SSID, is this normal as the computer’s wi-fi is only showing one SSID? Also, if the channel bandwidth is reduced from 80 MHz to 40 MHz will that prevent the VLAN’s from operating normally? Having some wi-fi dropout issues even with the units meshed and was curious if the smaller channel size may help. I am using 149 and have some distant neighbors on 157 (their SNR is showing as under 10)

Looks like you can delete my earlier post above as I see that the VLAN’s are on the same channel as the “main” network.

@montgomery49323 For mesh setup, WiFi configuration is mirrored by the satellite nodes. It’s better to keep the channel width at 80 MHz. Also lower channels like 36 and 48 work better than higher channels like 149 etc.

If you experience WiFi dropouts, please let us know.

I just posted a reply here but i cant see it so i am re typing it here this time to see if it stores in so apologies if it ends up being a repeat as the website may just be having an issue.

I would like to know the procedure to follow to change the password and wifi name of a setup where there are more than 1 router, so your router working as a router and your router made into a access point and physically connected together as i cant seem to find out the best way to do this to prevent issues?
Can it just be done whilst they are up and running or should they be both disconnected and done 1 at a time then re-connected in a specific order?

@fred78 Currently there are two ways to connect two routers: wireless mesh mode or wired AP mode. And they work differently.

In wireless mesh mode, you only need to change the main node, and the changes will be automatically synced to the satellite node.

For wired AP connection, you have to make the changes individually. I would recommend a three step process:

    1. Open the admin page for the AP (e.g., http://192.168.10.123), change the WiFi SSID to a temporary name.
    2. Open the admin page for the router (e.g., http://192.168.10.1), change the WiFi password. Reconnect to the WiFi after the password change.
    3. Open the admin page for the AP node again, update the WiFi SSID and password to what you want

Im currently not using mesh mode as both routers are wired together (dedicated tagged port).
This question was for only 1 vlan network rather than the main login wireless credentials.
Im confused by many points on your response procedure.

What do i need to do if i just want to change only the password on 1 of the vlan’s?
Do i just unplug/disconnect from the network both router and AP and 1 by 1 change the password then reconnect everything?
