Could you explain what this “Monitor” feature in the access control introduced in version 2.8.7 is all about?

Besides, I have to say that loading ad block lists is fantastic, a great idea. But could we be allowed to choose which list to download other than those pre-configured lists?

Previously, access control is either on or off. When access control is on, the router enforces control and logs Internet activities. When access control is off, the router does not enforce control and do not log Internet activities – with the exception of DNS blocks and ad blocks if the device chooses to use the router’s DNS. The new monitor mode does not enforce control but logs Internet activities.

We don’t support downloading ad block lists with arbitrary URL since the router needs to preprocess the lists before using them. We can add more options if you prefer.

Thanks for the reply, if it were possible to insert other more specific blocklists it would be much better, for example the Hagezi “Safesearch not supported”, “Social Networks” or “NSFW” lists, or even StevenBlack’s host lists which are really excellent.

@casino Thanks for the feedback. We’ll see if we can accommodate this.
