pcWRT on Linksys WRT1900ACS V1

Hi,

I am interested into installing pcWRT on my Linksys WRT1900ACS V1 router.
I saw a previous post indicating that pcWRT would work on V2. However, V1 and V2 are on different factory firmware, does it mean that pcWRT which works on V2 will not work on V1?
Hopefully someone can provide some insight into this. Thank you so much!

It should work with v1 also. The WRT1900ACS supports dual firmware partition, so you can revert to OEM if pcWRT firmware bricks the router. More info here: https://openwrt.org/toh/linksys/wrt1900acs
